Client Specified Questions
All survey modules, although pre-designed, provide for some client specified customization. The customization is achieved in the same way in all sections of all survey modules: Depending on the scope and complexity of the module, either one or two items are specified by you, the client, for each main topical section of the survey. If you do not wish to specify these items, UDS will supply “standardized substitutes.”
These client specified items must be submitted at least 48 hours in advance of the start of the survey to allow ample time for UDS to properly implement them on the server and then to test them. In certain cases, though rare, it might require up to 72 hours to implement and test all client specified questions if there are multiple modules being implemented for the client.
The questions of the survey modules that provide for client specified items are presented below via the “copy this file” link below. The “standardized substitutes” items that you can replace with your own items have been provided for all survey modules in the “copy this file” linked document. Again, these items as shown, are the UDS supplied “standardized substitutes.” If you do not wish to specify items, you may elect to use the UDS supplied “standardized substitutes”, or alternatively, if you wish to specify your own items, alter the “standardized substitutes” as you wish and email them to us as instructed.
Procedure for Specifying and Submitting Client Specified Survey Question Items
Preliminary Note: It is highly recommended that before you specify survey question items, you first demo the module(s) you intend to have administered to your students, so that you will have a better and more complete sense of the context of the questions, where they fall in the sequence of all questions of the survey module and the experience your students will likely have in taking the survey. This will improve the relevance and focus of the items you specify.
Steps for specifying and submitting client specified survey question items:
- Review your chosen survey module(s) (recommended not required);
- Copy this file, modified to indicate your questions for the modules you have chosen, into an e-mail to us;
